It's a great lens. My opinion it out performed Tameron's 24-135 and It's less expensive Plus offers a greater range. I upgraded from Tamron's 28-200 and I'm very happy of my decision. Buy this lens before prices go up. (it's a BIG lens)

Review Summary:
Bottom line is that I have to agree with the other 3 reviewers and rate this lens a 5. I have only taken prints with the lens and most of them have turned out perfect. Slides may show some problems but prints certainly do not.

Up until recently it's been hard to find a review of this lens and I don't know what the professionals are going to say about it in the different photo magazines, but from this amatures point of view, this is an excellent lens.

This lens is a winner. On the Nikon D1 it is flawless. Great value for the $. The lens is built as good as top line nikon Zooms. Nice heavy, sturdy. Makes very sharp prints through out zoom range. Better than average autofocus speed. Bright and easy focus through view finder.

This lens is excellent. I`ve used it at Englishtown (Drag Racing) and Pocono (Motorcycles). Never a problem, well made,focuses "right now" and is smooth. Recently purchased Tokina`s new lens 24-200mm 3.5-5.6 I needed something wider (car shows)and something with a little further reach. The Nikon 24-120 and the Tokina lens "balance" much better since their closer to the camera body.

刚才去器材店顺便看了一下这支镜头。
从外表来看，做工非常好，比尼康现在出的普及AF变焦镜头要强的多，据说它的镜桶部分采用了铝合金，重量接近700g，让人感觉很扎实。
变焦环和对焦环手感很好，保持了图丽的一贯作风，用惯图丽的人不会有陌生感。
它的变焦比大（5倍），滤镜的尺寸是72mm，但整体的体积也算紧凑，放在尼康F80上是不合比例的，但如果放在尼康F100上应该具有平衡感，放在尼康F5上也不错。
用它作为一只大变焦比的旅游镜头来使用，应该是很超值的，现在的价格才2300人刀左右。
当时店里只有一只EOS卡口的，无法放在尼康机身上测试它的对焦速度，但我相信它不会逊色于原厂的同档次镜头，我以前曾用过图丽的ATX235/3。5-4。5和ATX280/2。8，感觉对焦速度很不错，估计这支镜头也不会多少差别。图丽是与尼康风格最相象的副厂镜头。
就目前各厂家出品的大变焦比普及AF镜头来看，图丽镜头具有相当大的市场竞争力。

你不说我还没注意，恭喜我自己！
革命尚未成功，茄子仍需努力。。。。
俺那天替你看了一下, 也是那只EF卡口的, 同样因为俺不是CANON用家, 所以没上在机身上试.
俺感觉做工没的说, 不相信这是副厂的, 比现在NIKON业余的变焦感觉要好. 变焦环略有点涩, 但远胜于俺用过的SIGMA的镜头, 对焦环手感很好. 变焦到200mm时, 两节镜筒完全伸出, 感觉有点象TAMRON 28-200那样的, 但显得很结实, 一点都不松旷.
大概顾及到24mm广角端, 它的口径与NIKKOR 24-85以及24-120一样, 都是颇受批评的72mm, 估计做到62mm而保证同样像质是有很大困难的.
其实也有不少媒体提及这只镜头, 但坛子里讨论好象不多, 也许TOKINA的市场策划还要努力.
在光学结构上，AT-X242采用了由Hoya生产的高素质多层镀膜光学玻璃，其中有2片非球面镜片和1片SD镜片，非球面镜片是铸膜光学玻璃，而不是在玻璃基底上压铸光学树脂。
为保证快速AF，采用了内调焦设计，从而72mm的滤光镜在对焦时不会转动。同时在MF环上有对焦距离刻度。
与其他AT-X系列镜头一样，在变焦时，镜头的焦点不改变。

小型化、轻量化和降低成本是未来器材发展的方向，所以现在不少大变焦比的普及型AF镜头用料都比以前节约了很多，做工也没以前精细了（我相信不少专业镜头也如此），图丽这支大变焦比镜头在激烈的竞争中仍能基本保持一贯作风，实属难得！
我粗略比较了一下它和尼康AF28-105/3。5-4。5，两者价格相当，但尼康的做工明显不如图丽，传说尼康的不少普及型AF镜头都是另外厂家代工的，我看极有可能。那么，现在买的所谓原厂镜头，很有可能是一只副厂代工的镜头！而选择副厂镜头，才真正是本厂的产品。
我玩器材比较保守，如果选择副厂镜头的话，只选图丽，毕竟它的风格与尼康最接近。
喜欢一镜走天涯的影友，不妨考虑这支超级的图丽ATX242！
